We all care about our homes and spend time, effort and money, trying to make ourselves

more comfortable . For most of us constructing the house is the biggest achievement and investment in our life. If we are not careful about the basic principles of architecture of our homes it can damage our health it may lead to big failure in family life too without our even being aware of it. Here we are giving you a the possible tips for a good vastu home.

Prayer Room

Room for prayer and meditation is recommended to be in the north-east corner of the house.

Deity or image of god should not face the south direction. Ideal positions are such that you face east or west while praying.

You may do the pooja facing North or East.

Stair Case

Southern or south-western portions of the building are ideal for locating staircase.Do not design staircase of a building in the north-east portion. The steps should climb from east to west or from north to south. The landings or turnings in a staircase should wind up in the clockwise direction. The number of steps in a staircase should be an odd number so that if you start climbing the steps with the right foot, you will reach the higher floor on the right foot itself.

Bed Rooms

The main bedroom should be on the southwest or northwest side of the house.This is the place for the master of the house. The married children can use this bed room. Children bed room can be located in West, northwest & east.Northeast bed rooms can be used by children or gusests. Northeast and Westside master bedrooms will give more girls in the family.Always avoid south east room for sleeping. It will cause anger ,wrong decisions & quarrelling between husband and wife.

When you are sleeping in your house place your head on South side or west side. Never sleep placing the head on north side. The reason behind is because of north pole attraction you brain cells will always be disturbed and you won’t get a peaceful sleep. An attached bathroom could be built on the west or north sides of the room. The bedroom may be painted with pink, dark blue, dark green, gray. Never use White & light yellow color.

Bathroom

West and South directions are good. The water flow should be towards north east. The commode should be south or west facing. Exhausts fan can be fixed on North or East Walls. Geysers should be fixed on south east corner.

Toilet

Toilet should not be fixed on northeast corner. It should be constructed towards South or West. The face should be towards south while discharging stool.

Balcony

It should be constructed in the North-East to achieve good health and wealth and if in the houses already constructed, the balcony is in South-West, it should be covered with glass or screens. The North – East air is good for children while south west air may bring diseases.

Doors

The doors should be in the North and East. If you have a south facing door your kitchen may be located on North west corner. (It is called Ganapathy Corner)

Drawing Room

It should be in North-West, South or west direction. The furniture should be kept in South and West directions. As far as possible the open space should be maximum in North and East directions.

Dinning Room

South East corner is good .

Entertainment Room

This is an important place and the suitable directions for it is North-West or South.

Garages  It should be in the South-East or North-West corner but load on North and East Walls be kept at the minimum

Kitchen

The kitchen must be situated in South-East. The face of the cook should be towards the East. The water tap in kitchen should be in the North-East direction.In the kitchen, grinder, fridge, shelf and other heavy items should be towards South and West wall.
